With the arrest of (1) Rohit Kumar Matta @ Raj @ Shanky, Aged 35 years R/o Shiv Colony, Near Railway Station, Kosli, Rewari, Haryana, (2) Sunil Kumar s/o Ramchander, Aged 37 years R/o 148B, 2nd Floor, Sigma City Extention, Zirakpur, SAS Nagar, Punjab & (3) Parveen Tiwari s/o Ram Kushal, Aged 35 years R/o Bhupganj Bazar, Bahraich, UP, team of Cyber Police Station, Distt. Rohini has solved a case wherein the accused persons had cheated complainantS on pretext of providing airline tickets on 25-50 % discount rate. They have cheated more than 50 persons with similar Modus Operandi.
INCIDENT:
One Ankur Jindal filed a complaint on cyber portal regarding fraud of ₹ 62,750/- on the pretext of Airline Ticket Booking. The complainant alleged that in the first week of Nov. 2022, he searched for online airline ticket booking. After some time, he got a call wherein the caller introduced himself as Sunil Kumar and assured him that he is travel agent and works for booking online Air tickets. On 08/11/2022, the complainant contacted the accused person and booked 03 airline tickets from Delhi to Lucknow for 19/11/2022 with return tickets for 20/11/2022. The tickets were booked for Rs 17,250/- and the complainant made the payment. The complainant again booked 5 Airline tickets from Delhi to Lucknow for 20/11/2022 with return tickets for 22/11/2022. The complainant again paid Rs. 23,500/-. Thereafter, complainant booked one Airline ticket from Delhi to Kuwait for 22/11/2022 and one Airline ticket from Delhi to Riyadh for 18/11/2022 and made the payment of Rs 22,000/-. On 15/11/2022, the complainant then checked the status of the Air Tickets and all the tickets were found cancelled and the mobile number of the accused person was switched off. Later, he came to know that he has become a victim of cyber fraud. On receipt of the complaint, A case vide FIR No. 08/2023 U/s 420 IPC was registered at PS Cyber Rohini and investigation was taken up.
TEAM
In order to solve the case and apprehend the criminal, a team comprising of Insp. Devendra Kumar, SI Rahul and HC Nitesh was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Ajay Dalal, SHO/Cyber Police Station, Distt. Rohini and under overall close supervision of Sh. Ishwar Singh, ACP/Operations Cell/Rohini.
INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION
During the course of investigation, on the basis of technical analysis, the alleged was found to be based at Zirak Pur, Chandigarh. Subsequently, the team was immediately dispatched to ZirakPur to identify the hideout of the cheaters. On the basis of secret information and technical analysis, the team zeroed down the house in which the alleged persons were hiding. Subsequently, a raid was conducted at Sigma City Zirak Pur and all three accused persons who revealed their identity as (1) Rohit Kumar @ Raj @ Shanky, aged 35 years r/o Shiv Colony, Kosli, Rewari, Haryana, (2) Sunil, aged 37 years r/o Sigma City, Zirakpur, Punjab and (3) Parveen Tiwari, aged 35 years r/o Bhupganj Bazar, Bahraich, UP were apprehended.
On sustained questioning, the accused persons revealed that they have got registered themselves with Google and Just Dial in name & style of ‘Sidhi Vinayak’ travel agency. Whenever, a person used to visit Google or Just Dial for booking of airline tickets, they used to get details/notification of the person from Just Dial/Google. Thereafter, they used to contact their prey for booking Air Tickets and offer huge discounts on airline tickets. Once, the victim fells in their trap, they used to book the ticket and in order to win over the faith of the victim, send details of the ticket. Once the payment is made by the victim, they used to cancel the Air Tickets before travel date and take the refund amount too and later on started declining their calls.
Further investigation/ interrogation of the case is in progress. Efforts are being made to identity other victims cheated by the accused persons.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS
1. Rohit Kumar @ Raj @ Shanky, r/o Shiv Colony, Kosli, Rewari, Haryana is about 35 years old. He has studied upto graduation. He is doing business of taxi (Uber) in Delhi-Gurugram. Previously, he has been arrested in a case vide FIR No. 31/22 u/s 420 IPC, PS Cyber North in a similar case. Accused Rohit was also wanted in case FIR No. 45/2022 u/s 420 IPC of PS Cyber Shahdara.
2. Sunil r/o Sigma City, Zirakpur, Punjab is about 37 years old. He has studied upto 8th class. He was working as taxi driver with Rohit.
3. Parveen Tiwari r/o Bhupganj Bazar, Bahraich, UP is about 35 years old. He has studied upto 10th class. He has worked as a Team Leader in a reputed firm of water purifier in Jammu & Kashmir. Previously, he is involved in two cases of similar modus operandi of PS Maya Puri and PS Cyber North.
