BJP news: aam adami party punjab trying to thwart election 2024 BJP candidates from filing nominations said vijay bhai rupani in a press conference

Jalandhar, May 10: Punjab BJP In-charge and former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani today accused the ruling AAP in the state of trying to thwart BJP candidates from filing their nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference in Jalandhar flanked by Kailash Choudhary Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Anil Sarin General Secretary BJP Punjab this evening, Vijay Rupani cited the case of Ludhiana BJP nominee Ravneet Bittu who was sent a notice for recovery of pending house dues on WhatsApp at midnight a day before Bittu was to file his nomination.

“The authorities in Punjab were aware that BJP candidate Ravneet Bittu was to file his nomination on Friday. At 11.55 pm on Thursday, he was sent a notice for recovery of pending Rs 1.82 crore dues by the local bodies department. An NOC is required from the department which was not possible without payment of this huge amount,” Rupani said.

The former CM, while alleging a deep-seeded conspiracy- first to inhibit the right to campaign of BJP candidates and now to stall their nominations- said Bittu had applied for NOC on May 4 which was not given. Rupani also cited the case of their BJP Bathinda nominee Parampal Kaur Sidhu, a former IAS officer, whose application for voluntary retirement was rejected despite following all procedures.

“Which government department works at midnight and sends notices? The AAP is frustrated. We had to wait for several hours today to get the NOC after our candidate cleared the dues with difficulty,” he said, adding that the BJP has brought the issue to the notice of the CEO Punjab.

In response to a question, Rupani said the interim bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal today will have no impact on the already doomed prospects of the AAP in Punjab as the people can see through their corrupt practices and failed promises.
